Last Friday we woke up to half a foot of snow here in Connecticut and I loved every minute of it! I do wish it arrived a couple weeks ago in time for Christmas, but I’ll take a chill snowy Friday. Elle was unsure about it, but we did do our obligatory “first snow” picture. Over the weekend we took it slow. We visited a local shelter in hopes of finding a cat to join our family. I have wanted a cat since we moved in, but last year with being pregnant and unknowing what a new baby would bring we were hesitant. Now, we feel ready to welcome a new friend. The shelter we visited only had a few options that would fit our needs and both cats we played with either hissed at us or scratched both Justin and I. We only want to bring a new pet into our home if it is going to be safe for Elle. We will keep looking and hope that right one comes along!
Here are some things I am currently obsessing over:
ONE // This eye cream
I’ve been getting a lot less sleep these past 7 months and have not been able to find anything to control my under eyes. This cream has made major improvements on my under eye circles and my smile lines at the corner of my eyes. I think my favorite part is that my makeup easily glides on over it.
TWO // Cheer Season 2 + Full Out by Monica Aldama
I am so excited that Netflix is releasing a season 2 of Cheer this week. I had no idea they were filming until the trailer was released! Also Monica’s book came out came out this week and I am really excited to dive into reading it next month! I’ll keep you posted… and will be re-watching the first season of Cheer for the time being.
THREE // My favorite meatless recipe
Justin and I make these lemon pepper chickpeas weekly, it’s one of my favorite meatless Monday recipes… also Sam is super cute! She posts recipes daily on Instagram… and I have her cookbook, which I’m constantly referring to for recipes!
FOUR // The Sex Lives of College Girls
I binged this series over the holiday and it was SO unexpectedly good and was brought right back to being a young college girl. I thought it was a very accurate portrayal of the college freshman experience.
FIVE // Puzzles
I rotate through activities seasonally, for example you most likely won’t find me crocheting during a heatwave in August, however once the crisp fall air hits, I am inseparable from my hook. Justin and I got big into puzzle during the initial 2020 lockdown and still enjoy doing them! For us they are more of winter activity and it feels like we constantly have one going on the kitchen table. I found this vintage national park puzzle at Goodwill recently, and shockingly it had all the pieces! It was relatively easy for a 1,000. Also, this puzzle board is a must have as well1
That’s what I’m currently obsessing over, what are you?
