Growing up in Florida, I am kind of obsessed with cold drinks. Seriously, I put ice in everything and I am always looking for something cold to drink on an incredibly hot, humid day.
When I was younger, my mom and I would make these smoothies for my dad and grandfather when they were working in the yard. Back then the famous chain that you see in malls accompanied by Dairy Queen wasn’t a thing. This Orange Julius recipe is a family one that has been passed down for a while. I am a huge fan of it because it isn’t as sweet as those mall ones, which I cannot drink — too much sugar.
Let me know if y’all like them, I sure do! -xoxo darling, Hayden
Recipe:
3 oz. Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate
½ cup of Water
½ cup of Milk
½ teaspoon of Vanilla
¼ cup of Sugar
5 or 6 Ice Cubes
Combine all ingredients in a blender, cover and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
Makes about 3 cups worth, but it can easily be doubled. When making, don’t double the sugar if you don’t want it to be too sweet.
